David Marcus

Chief Operating Officer

With a career spanning 30 years, David Marcus has been instrumental in the development of techniques and infrastructure for film and television post-production. He possesses a unique combination of skills as a business marketing maven, creative entrepreneur, and technical visionary.

In 1984, as a founding member of Modern Sound, a division of Modern Videofilm, David was one of the seminal sound editors in Hollywood to utilize sampling and hard disk recording technology. He pioneered electronic post-production techniques for episodic television.

In 1988, as an in demand technology expert, David moved to New York to work with Magno Sound and Video. While at Magno, David acted as consultant and supervised the integration of digital audio systems into the company.  He also mixed and edited feature films and commercials for an international array of clients. A native Californian, David relocated back to Hollywood in 1990 where he became the principal sound designer and a lead mixer at Margarita Mix, a division of the LA Studios in Hollywood.
 
While at Margarita Mix, David sat on the executive advisory board and headed the Advanced Systems Group.  He worked directly with engineers at Bell Laboratories, on an ultra high bandwidth real-time teleconferencing system optimized for remote learning and real-time business applications. David also mixed some of the world’s top advertising campaigns as well as IMAX features and theatrical trailers.
 
In 1998 he took a position as consultant and engineer for Post-Op, Inc. There, he developed techniques to streamline and modernize their facility, which ultimately served as a model for his ventures over the next few years.
 
In 2006 David began his tenure as Director of Operations for Wow and Flutter. His participation included directing all aspects of business and technical development as well as strategic planning for the company.
 
In 2009, he and Michael Perricone opened Lotus Post.  A complete post production facility, Lotus is located in the heart of the Santa Monica, California media district. David currently sits as Chief Operating Officer of the company.
 
A musician since age six holding a degree in Music Theory and Composition from the prestigious Evergreen State College, David has performed at venues around the world including the legendary Village Vanguard in New York City.
